Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)

The following are being done under water and sanitation sector:

• Construction of household toilets, soak pits, nadep and vermicompost pits, washing and bathing platforms for promoting sanitation at community and school levels
• Hygiene education in schools so children adopt good practices about sanitation
• Prevention of water borne diseases and promotion of appropriate treatment of such diseases
• Formation of water and sanitation committees involving teachers, teacher-parent associations, health workers, anganwadi workers, self help group members, etc.
• Building capacity of water and sanitation committees
